Whilst a beautiful journey parenting can also come with immense pressure and unrealistic expectations from society. We're constantly bombarded with the idea that we need to have it all together, and our children must excel in every aspect of life. This cycle of expectations leads to guilt, frustration, and burnout.

There is a different way. Parenting without expectation (or the subtle art of not giving a f%$*!)

Give yourself permission to focus on what your child needs, rather than what others think you should do. Trust in your child's journey and let go of the burden of control. Detachment doesn't mean loving them any less; it means you're not attached to their outcomes.

You - and they- get comfortable with discomfort, disappointment and missing the mark (all emotional builders of resilience).

Parenting without expectation is about living in the now, staying present, and avoiding the fear of missing out (FOMO).

Be your child's loving guide, not their controller. Allow them to make choices and learn from their mistakes, while offering support and guidance along the way. Use triggers as opportunities for self-awareness and personal growth.

Parenting without expectation is a beautiful art that requires practice and patience. Let go of society's expectations, embrace the ebb and flow of life, and enjoy the journey of parenting.

I hadn’t thought about it in that way, but she’s right. Throughout my readings and coaching sessions with parents we often look at some similar things in their lives through the lens of Human Design. So here is a brief intro to the 7 steps to high frequency parenting that my clients are loving! 1️⃣ Strategy and Authority: Uncover how your child naturally interacts with the world and makes decisions, providing clarity and confidence. THE starting point. 2️⃣ Signature and Not Self: Identify emotional signposts that show when they are on and off track. Once you learn these about yourself and your child things start to click in place. 3️⃣ Profile: This is a big one as it often needs the parent to release any and all attachment and expectation to how their child ‘should’ be in their eyes. 4️⃣ Environment: Create a nurturing space where your child thrives and shines at their very best. An often overlooked piece of the Human Design puzzle but the details here are really important for us to nurture our children on a whole new level. 5️⃣ Digestion: Understand how they best process information, nourishment, and influences for balanced energy. This isn’t nutritional advice! Although there are some links with food, but it’s more about processing things in an optimal way. Applying this to my family over the past 2+ years has been eye opening! 6️⃣ Motivation: Explore the driving force that fuels their passions and interests. My personal favourite in my own chart - this was one of those huge ‘ah ha’ moments when I worked out why guilt and hope are such prevalent themes for me. 7️⃣ Cognition: Embrace their absolute superpower—the special gift that sets them apart.
